Peer Review Policy

Peer Review Policy

Stardom Scientific Journal of Economy and Management Studies uses double-blind peer review: the identities of authors and reviewers are kept mutually confidential throughout the review process.

Workflow

  1. Submission. Authors upload the manuscript via the online platform. The corresponding author confirms originality and absence of conflicts.
  2. Editorial screening (3–7 days). The handling editor checks scope, formatting, and similarity (Turnitin). Manuscripts failing screening are returned without review.
  3. Reviewer assignment. At least two reviewers are invited based on subject expertise and absence of conflicts.
  4. Review (3 weeks default). Reviewers complete a structured assessment.
  5. Decision. The handling editor makes one of four decisions:

- Accept. - Minor revisions — small clarifications; usually no re-review. - Major revisions — substantive changes; manuscript re-reviewed. - Reject — fundamental issues or out of scope.

  1. Revision. Authors submit a revised manuscript plus an Author Response letter within 6 weeks (extensions possible on request).
  2. Re-review (if needed).
  3. Final decision.
  4. Production and publication — copyediting, typesetting, DOI assignment, archiving.

Anonymity

  • Authors must submit a manuscript file with all identifying information removed from the body and metadata.
  • Reviewer names are not revealed to authors.
  • Editors know all parties' identities to manage the process.

Standards

All reviewers commit to:

  • Confidentiality of the manuscript and review.
  • Constructive criticism focused on the work.
  • Timely completion of reviews.
  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest.
  • Use of evidence rather than personal opinion.

Quality Assurance

  • Editors monitor review quality and may decline to use reviewers whose reports are unhelpful or biased.
  • A third reviewer is consulted when initial reviews differ markedly.
  • The Editor-in-Chief audits decisions periodically.

Special Cases

  • Conflicts of interest of the handling editor: the manuscript is reassigned to another editor.
  • Manuscripts by editorial board members: handled by an independent editor; the board member has no access to reviewer identities or comments.
  • Special issues: follow the same review process; guest editors are external to the journal's standing board where possible.
