Guide for Reviewers
Reviewers are essential to the integrity and quality of Stardom Scientific Journal of Economy and Management Studies. We are grateful for your time and expertise.
1. Accepting an Invitation
When you receive a review invitation, decide whether you can:
- Complete the review within 3 weeks.
- Provide an unbiased assessment (no conflicts of interest with the authors, their institution, or the work itself).
- Cover the subject area competently.
If not, please decline promptly and, when possible, suggest alternative reviewers.
2. Confidentiality
The manuscript and the review process are strictly confidential. Do not:
- Share the manuscript with others without the editor's consent.
- Use unpublished material in your own work.
- Discuss the paper with the authors directly.
3. Reviewing Criteria
Assess the manuscript on:
| Dimension | Questions to consider |
|---|---|
| Originality | Is the contribution novel and significant? |
| Scope & relevance | Does it fit the journal's aims and scope? |
| Methodology | Are the methods rigorous, reproducible, and appropriate? |
| Results | Are findings clearly presented and supported by data? |
| Discussion | Are conclusions justified? Are limitations acknowledged? |
| References | Is the literature review adequate, current, and balanced? |
| Language & clarity | Is the writing precise and intelligible? |
| Ethics | Any concerns about plagiarism, fabrication, dual submission, or undisclosed conflicts? |
4. Review Report
A good review report contains:
- A short summary of the manuscript in your own words.
- Major comments — substantive issues that affect the validity of the work.
- Minor comments — wording, references, figures, typos.
- A clear recommendation: Accept / Minor revisions / Major revisions / Reject.
- Confidential comments to the editor (optional).
Reviews should be constructive and respectful, focused on the work rather than the authors.
5. Timeline
- Invitation response: within 5 days.
- Review submission: within 3 weeks of acceptance.
- Revised manuscript: re-review within 2 weeks.
6. Recognition
Reviewers are credited annually in the journal's Acknowledgments page (anonymously by default). Reviewer activity is also reportable to ORCID upon request.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Decline if you:
- Have collaborated with any author in the last 3 years.
- Work at the same institution as any author.
- Have personal, financial, or professional relationships that may bias the review.
8. Concerns of Misconduct
If you suspect plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate submission, or any breach of publication ethics, please report it confidentially to the handling editor immediately.
